The Position: The Seasonal Digital Engagement Specialist I is responsible for ongoing customer engagement related to King Arthur Baking’s digital channels: website content, social media, and additional platforms. This role’s primary goals are to ensure that the King Arthur Baking brand resonates positively with new and existing fans, and that digital marketing initiatives are supported in online conversations. This position is part of the Editorial & Education Team and works closely with other teams including but not limited to Customer Support, Digital Marketing, and Test Kitchen.

The Location: Remote

The Schedule: There are two seasonal openings available.

The full-time position is 40 hours a week with an expected end date in mid-January 2027. The ideal schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 10AM – 6PM EST.

The part-time positions is 20 hours a week until mid-January 2027 at which point it will increase to 30 hours a week until mid-February. The ideal schedule includes availability Sunday 10 AM -2 PM EST and Monday through Thursday 8AM – 12 PM EST.

The Pay: $20.17 to $24.55 per hour worked; commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to KABC audiences on social media and other online platforms; answering questions, amplifying positive comments, de-escalating sensitive situations, and proactively engaging others in ways that support and draw positive attention to the KABC brand and our campaigns.
  • Answer basic baking and product questions from our audience and moderately challenging questions with help from Digital Engagement Team Lead, Digital Engagement Specialist II members, and/or other relevant team members as needed.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Degree or certification in baking and/or pastry, or comparable experience in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Comfort with and practical knowledge of from-scratch baking.

Competencies:

  • Communication: Exceptional writing skills, including grammar, spelling, the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts, and an aptitude for creatively connecting with an audience. Aptitude for recognizing tone and context, and ability to represent the King Arthur brand appropriately in conversation. Effective communicator who listens and respects others’ points of view.
  • Technical Skills: Web savvy, including comfort and confidence managing social media platforms, online tools, and mobile apps.
  • Time management and Efficiency: Ability to work at a rapid pace and with high volumes of messages without sacrificing quality in responses.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Participate in team problem solving and decision making. Think and act strategically, understand how one’s role contributes to the larger outcomes.

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

Work environment

  • Remote work environment that meets KAB standards for work. Indoor office space where most work is performed at a desk with a monitor that can be adjusted for standing or sitting.
