The Position: The Material Coordinator provides analytical, executional, and advisory support for sourcing and materials management activities across King Arthur Baking’s internal manufacturing facility and external manufacturing partners. This role is responsible for assessing material availability, inventory health, and supply risk; coordinating material transitions and innovation launches; and supporting performance management and continuous improvement initiatives. The Material Coordinator applies independent judgment to evaluate data, identify risks, recommend actions, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure continuity of supply, inventory accuracy, and alignment with production and business objectives.

The Location: Hybrid combining working from home, and onsite in White River Junction VT roughly 1-2 days per quarter. Ideal candidates will be located within 120 miles of our offices.

The Pay: $49,900 to $68,000 annual salary; commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of raw material, packaging availability and purchase orders supporting both internal production and external manufacturing partners
  • Analyze inventory levels, aging, usage trends, and storage constraints to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Partner with the Material Planner to evaluate production scenarios, forecasting assumptions, material transfers, and inventory strategies
  • Lead coordination of material transitions, runout planning, and innovation launches to ensure uninterrupted supply
  • Monitor supplier and co-manufacturer performance using KPIs and scorecards, identifying trends and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Quality and R&D to evaluate aging or at-risk materials and support mitigation plans
  • Provide guidance and resolution support for complex delivery, receipt, return, and material disposition issues
  • Partner with Accounting to analyze and resolve purchase order, receipt, and invoice discrepancies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, process evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration while utilizing technology-driven tools to enhance and optimize processes.
  • Communicate material risks, insights, and recommendations to sourcing and supply chain leadership

Experience and Education

  • 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, materials management, or a related field
  • 1-3 years’ functional use of planning systems and methodologies - Material Requirements Planning (MRP), SAP S/4HANA preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ functional experience in automated Procure to Pay systems and process - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), EDI, SAP S/4HANA preferred.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in ERP and MRP systems with operational knowledge of system integrations and data flows. Working knowledge in SAP S/4HANA and advanced analytics tools such as Data Cubes and MS Power BI.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Committed to delivering exceptional experiences for internal teams, external partners, and paying customers. Maintains high standards of quality and responsiveness in all interactions.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Functions confidently with cross-functional teams and business partners in support of supply chain activities. Communicates proactively and effectively, tailoring messages to audience and context.
