Seasonal Bakery Production Associate

The Position: The Seasonal Bakery Production Associate supports the from-scratch production of artisan baked goods and breads in a commercial bakery setting during peak seasonal demand. This role contributes directly to daily production of laminated pastries, breakfast pastries, cookies, pies, individual pastries, cakes, and artisan breads. The associate works collaboratively with the bakery team to meet quality, consistency, food safety, and production goals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Shifts begin at 3:00 AM.

The Location: Norwich, VT; onsite daily.

The Schedule: This seasonal position is a full-time 40 hours per week position and the length of assignment expected to be mid-May through mid-August. The shifts are 3:30am-11:30am, including weekends.

The Pay: $18.21 to $19.14 per hour worked; commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with scaling, mixing, baking, and finishing pastry and artisan bread products
  • Follow established production schedules, formulas, and bakery workflows
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Operate and assist with standard commercial baking equipment
  • Support daily production needs during high-volume periods
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
  • Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and professionalism
  • Communicate effectively with bakery leads and team members
  • Assist with cleaning, dishwashing, and end-of-shift sanitation tasks

Experience and Education

  • Previous experience in a production bakery, kitchen, or food service environment preferred
  • Culinary or baking education is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Enthusiasm for baking and interest in artisan food production
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • We value candidates who can demonstrate capability and articulate how prior experience supports success in this role

  • Dependability– Demonstrates reliability, consistency, and a strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness and supporting kitchen operations.

Work environment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment where temperatures can vary, often hot and humid. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud dependent on specific work site and/or equipment operation as well as customer traffic in adjacent area.
